Tel est le cas du Concerto pour violoncelle no. 2 de Dvorak, un monument du r\u00e9pertoire que le soliste interpr\u00e9tera le 29 septembre \u00e0 14h 30, au Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Banque Nationale de Chicoutimi, aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de l\u2019Orchestre symphonique du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00abC\u2019est l\u2019oeuvre la plus costaude du r\u00e9pertoire pour orchestre et violoncelle. Elle se distingue des autres par sa dur\u00e9e, qui est de 42 minutes, ce qui donne le temps d\u2019explorer plusieurs paysages sonores. C\u2019est comme une symphonie et pour le soliste, cette pi\u00e8ce est exigeante au plan technique. Il y a beaucoup de pi\u00e8ges\u00bb, a soulign\u00e9 le musicien il y a quelques jours, \u00e0 l\u2019occasion d\u2019une entrevue t\u00e9l\u00e9phonique accord\u00e9e au Progr\u00e8s.<\/p>\n<p>La technique, c\u2019est une chose, mais le v\u00e9ritable d\u00e9fi est d\u2019un autre ordre. \u00abIl faut construire une histoire afin de garder le public en haleine, se garder de l\u2019\u00e9nergie pour la finale, mais \u00e7a tombe bien, parce que cette composition en donne beaucoup. J\u2019ai aussi h\u00e2te de travailler avec le chef d\u2019orchestre Jean-Michel Malouf. Ce sera une premi\u00e8re avec lui\u00bb, note le violoncelliste.<\/p>\n<p>Parlant de ce concerto comme d\u2019une oeuvre de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence, au m\u00eame titre que les Suites pour violoncelle de Bach dans le contexte de l\u2019interpr\u00e9tation en solo, il signale la pr\u00e9sence d\u2019innombrables d\u00e9tails \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de la partition. La bonne nouvelle, de son point de vue, tient au fait que sa vision a chang\u00e9 depuis sa derni\u00e8re exploration de cette pi\u00e8ce en concert, qui remonte \u00e0 quatre ans.<\/p>\n<p>\u00abQuand on y retourne apr\u00e8s un certain temps, le regard est diff\u00e9rent. Dans ce cas-ci, par exemple, j\u2019ai trouv\u00e9 des choses qui ne m\u2019\u00e9taient pas apparues la fois d\u2019avant. Je suis aussi moins nerveux qu\u2019\u00e0 mes d\u00e9buts, quand je devais aborder une oeuvre de ce calibre. M\u00eame si on me disait que \u00e7a se passerait bien, c\u2019\u00e9tait stressant, l\u2019\u00e9quivalent d\u2019un saut dans le vide\u00bb, confie St\u00e9phane T\u00e9treault.<\/p>\n<p>Le plaisir de revisiter le Dvorak a \u00e9t\u00e9 v\u00e9cu une premi\u00e8re fois la semaine derni\u00e8re, lors d\u2019un concert tenu \u00e0 Saskatoon. Cette exp\u00e9rience lui a laiss\u00e9 un bon souvenir, ce qui augure bien pour le concert de dimanche, qui ne sera cependant pas un copier-coller. Chaque formation poss\u00e8de sa propre sensibilit\u00e9, en effet, ce qui conf\u00e9rera \u00e0 ce rendez-vous, son deuxi\u00e8me avec l\u2019Orchestre symphonique du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, un caract\u00e8re unique.<\/p>\n<p>Quant \u00e0 ses r\u00e9f\u00e9rences \u00e0 lui, les enregistrements du concerto qui se trouvent au sommet de son panth\u00e9on personnel, ils ont pour trait commun de mettre en relief du talent de la grande Jacqueline Du Pr\u00e9, de regrett\u00e9e m\u00e9moire. \u00abJ\u2019aime beaucoup celui qu\u2019elle a fait en studio, mais aussi son concert \u00ablive\u00bb dirig\u00e9 par Daniel Barenboim, qui \u00e9tait alors son mari. Il y a une \u00e9nergie hallucinante\u00bb, s\u2019\u00e9merveille St\u00e9phane T\u00e9treault.<\/p>\n<p>Outre le <em>Concerto pour violoncelle no. 2<\/em>, le programme propos\u00e9 \u00e0 Chicoutimi comprend la Symphonie no. 4 de Brahms, ainsi que l\u2019Ouverture de l\u2019op\u00e9ra Don Giovani, de Mozart. Pr\u00e9cisons que le titre du programme est Prodigieux violoncelle et que Jean-Michel Malouf donnera une causerie dans le hall du Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Banque Nationale, aux alentours de 13h45.
